Sorry, I couldn't resist. I am not sure there is any difference that is noticeable, but someone should come along with more historical info that might be able to give a real answer.

Other than the fact that the 620 is crap, I can offer no other opinion.

Vince ,
These are the models that were made from the late 60's to early 70's. Believe me they are not in the same class as the ones made today.

I hear you. Just not much fun when you can only play on about 10 yards. Still saving my pennies for a big board, though.

there are two versions of the 660. it was the superbowl board for Denver/dallas, and Minnesota/Oakland time period. the larger 660 is the same size as the 1968-1974 big boards(620) size. the smaller version is actually NOT as small as the 500 series, the small 660 is inbetween, its like the old 1973 college boards, and the 613's, 618's etc.

Like was stated, there are two variations of the 660. The larger one is the same size as the large 620's. The smaller version, my first board, is a little smaller than the big 620's however, it is bigger than the 618's, 613's, small 620's, etc.

Approximate playing field dimensions:

Large 620's, 655's, 645's, 660's = 35 1/2 x 18 1/2
Small 660's = 32 1/2 x 16 1/2
Small 620's, 618's, 613's, 645's = 29 1/2 x 15
